How Far We've Come...

Grand Haven Meet Results
What a great meet tonight! Both teams swam really well and put up some impressive times. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'm really happy to see the improvements we've been seeing out of the girls this season. Diving was an especially exciting event tonight when our girls went 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 with some impressive scores.

How Far We've Come...
On the bus ride home, I reflected on where we are and what we've accomplished so far. In the 5 weeks we've been together we've accumulated a 7-1 record, a feat which I am continually impressed considering the competition. We've gotten a lot of MISCA times and have a lot of them within reach and we've also had some records go down. Here's a list from the season so far...

Holly Postma - Freshman Breaststroke Record – 1:15.35

Tyler Stubbs – Kenowa Hills Varsity Record 200 Free – 2:07.68
Kenowa Hills Varsity Record 100 Free – 1:00.95
Kenowa Hills Varsity Record 500 Free – 5:45.97

Paige Parsons – 50 Free, 100 Free

Liz VanHoven – 50 Free, 100 Free

Danica deWaha – 100 Back

Erin Spruit – 100 Back

Holly Postma – 100 Breast

Cristee Cordes – Diving

Taylor Wiercinski - Diving

Parent Volunteering
Another sheet will go home with your swimmer tomorrow with regards to helping out on booster nights. We still need more parents to help out. It's not hard, just takes a couple hours of your time and it helps us when we need to ask for new things in the pool. Even if you cant come for the whole time, please ask if you can help for part of the time. The next two opportunities are:

Monday, September 21 5:00-8:30 - Volleyball Concessions
Friday, October 2 - Varsity Football Raffle Tickets

If you are interested in helping, please contact Barbara Warren. Her info will be on the sheet brought home to you tomorrow. Please volunteer!

Friday's Practice
Friday's practice will be from 4:00-6:30PM. If you havent updated your calendar, please do so by clicking on the updated September Calendar in the top left corner.
